Options Price & Qty Independent of the Simple or Variation Qty

I would like at the builder options level to choose to make the option price independent of the native simple or variation quantity. This is especially desired for the 'product' option type.

The expectation is:
Simple or Variation ($15.00 x 3) + Extra Option(s) ($5.00 x 2) = $55.00

Its understood it can be achieved using Fee.
Using Fee to achieve this does not allow for stock management. Ref: mark212 "Manage stock with plugin options".
Also, I found when using Fee this way the option correctly displays in the Cart and Checkout by its label, but if I want the options total to show in the floating totals box it shows as Fee unless the string for 'Fees total text' is changed to something more suitable.

Then what if I also want to use fee as intended? It would be preferable not to appropriate Fee for this in favor of a specific option with the benefit of stock management.
